I am fortunate to have been able to connect with Mount Royal University, Associate Professor, Dr. David Legg, in an international research study over the past ten months. Dave, provided the opportunity for me to work with him as a research assistant on the international initiative known as SPLISS (Sport Policy factors Leading to International Sporting Success). Since June 2011, I have been researching the Canadian sport system in specific reference to the SPLISS project. Last month I received an invitation to present my SPLISS findings at Mount Royal University’s, first annual Student Research Day! Today, March 21, 2012 I had a chance to share with other University students and faculty members some of my research highlights and discoveries.
It was exciting to have the opportunity to network with fellow students, and learn of how a variety of unique research topics came about! Although many of the projects were extremely different, the Mount Royal Student Research Day website expresses the opportunity very well!
“they all have one thing in common: research expands human understanding and is the cornerstone of education”
Big shout out to the organizing committee for coordinating todays event and for arranging the printing of our posters and abstracts! What a fabulous opportunity to connect with fellow research students and share our many months of hard work and interesting discoveries!
Thanks Lucas! Happy off season (really really long off season I suppose)!
I’m sure you made a huge “spliss” splash today! Wish we could’ve seen you in action. xo
Hah! Good one Di. I knew I got my creative (some may say cheesy) humour from someone 😉
See you in 2 weeks!!!
